Today's Human Rights Radio show explored: Nepal Awakening and celebrating the Nepali New Year, Navavarsha 2068. We spoke with Bruno Hernani, originally from Peru, creator and founder of GreenRoots Sustainable Living Inc., an organization dedicated to developing leadership and community revitalization using locval knowledge and green initiatives. He is an industrial engineer, has a Masters in Environmental Science, is experienced in social environmental and economic assessment in urban and rural communities, locally and internationally. He's currently working on developing a public awareness project to create an environmental common vision for the community of Prithvinagar, Nepal. The Navavarsha celebration will be an evening of environmental awareness, education, and celebration of Nepali New Year. Susana Deranger is a member of the Athabasca Chipewyan First Nation and has been an acvtivist and an educator involved in First Nation and human rights a great part of her life. She has worked in the fields of addiction, education, and community development. Susana has successfully developed many projects with indiginous peoples in various communities in Canada and internationally.
